If you've ever worked in a corporate environment: The title doesn't imply lay-offs xD
We're doing a big reorganisation of the project to satisfy our requirements:
- Provide a sane basis to allow Solus to be a source derivative
- Allow ourselves to provide a small surface area to innovate on tooling and delivery.
The snekpit
organisation is being deprecated, with a new recipes repository being put together right now. The idea is for Solus to consume this as a git subtree and control when they pull from us, or even operate as a fork. Either way, source derive!
For us we need streamlined development, and with tarkah smashing it out of the park on the infrastructure port, it's time to get the rest of the project in line!
Along with the reorg, we're planning to deprecate the remaining D tooling (infra/boulder) over the first half of the year, as well as landing the triggers and boot management needed to "go live".
Long story short, we're preempting our eventual requirements for the repository management so we can attain alpha quicker, and support early rolling upgrades ! (Multiple repository indices by moss version, file indices, hashsum changes, psABI level, etc)
